Oklahoma City, OK – April 9, 2009 – The Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) annual scholarship is receiving a boost! This year the RHSF will award five $1,500 academic and need-based scholarships to deserving Youth members of the National Reining Horse Youth Association (NRHyA). This is $500 increase per scholarship over last year.
The mission of the NRHyA is to provide a character and leadership building program that will enable youth to become the future leaders of the Reining horse industry. Support comes from RHSF and their commitment to honoring young reiners for their leadership and achievement within the NRHyA.
One of the five core programs for the RHSF is Youth Development and the Foundation is dedicated to helping Youth members reach their educational goals. Brian Bendele, Manager of Youth & Outreach Programs said, “We are thrilled about the level of scholarships we will be awarding this year. Supporting NRHyA members as they fulfill their educational goals is a great investment for the Reining industry.â€
The RHSF is now accepting applications for the scholarships. All applications must be postmarked by June 15, 2009.
