Kreuth, Germany – March 24, 2009 – The 2009 NRHA European Futurity is underway at Osterbayernhalle in Kreuth-Rieden, Germany. The first day of competition consisted of the 1st Section of the Open Futurity. Whizoom (Topsail Whiz x Dun It The Hardway) and Grischa Ludwig of Germany hold the leading score with a 219. The duo stands first in the Level 4 Open, Level 3 Limited Open and Level 2 Intermediate Open Divisions. Shining Step (Wimpys Little Step x Spark N Pretty) and Markus Morawitz of Austria came out on top at the end of the day in the Level 1 Open Division with a 217. Tuesday’s schedule includes the NRHA European Futurity Non Pro Go round followed by the 2nd Section of the Open Futurity.

Entries in the first-ever NRHA European Futurity & NRHA Show have exceeded expectations with a total of 635 entries. It appears to be on its way to being the largest NRHA-approved event, in terms of entries, ever to be held outside of the United States.
The NRHA European Futurity & NRHA Show offer a full slate of Category 1 classes for Open and Non Pro riders. The NRHA European Futurity is “Open to the World” and showcases four-year-old reining horses and riders competing for close to $300,000 in prize money.
