02.04.09 – NRHA EUROPEAN FUTURITY GO-ROUND INFORMATION

Kreuth, Germany – February 4, 2009 – Many interested reiners have asked for clarification in regards to how many go-rounds will be run and how finalists will be determined at the first-ever NRHA European Futurity scheduled for March 23-29 in Kreuth, Germany. General information is listed below. However, detailed information can be found in the NRHA European Futurity Conditions available on the European Futurity Web site at www.nrha-european-futurity.com.

Here are the most important facts about the go-rounds:

All Futurity classes have just one Go-Round, Open and Non-Pro.

(e.g. if you enter all four levels, you run just once in the Go-Round to qualify for the Finals)

FUTURITY OPEN Level 1, 2, 3

·       Top 20 scoring entries, plus ties, advance to the Finals.

FUTURITY NON-PRO Level 1, 2, 3

·       Top 15 scoring entries, plus ties, advance to the Finals.

FUTURITY OPEN Level 4

·       The top 20 scoring entries, plus ties, in the Open Level 4 division advance to the Finals (pattern 10). First Go will be pattern 6.

·       The next 20 scoring entries, plus ties, in the Open Level 4 division may enter the Consolation Class (pattern 2).

·       The Top 5 scoring entries, plus ties, from the Consolation Class will advance to the Open Level 4 Finals.

·       Anyone who is qualified for the Consolation Class must declare their intent and has to enter the Consolation Class by noon the day before.

·       There is no Consolation Class purse and no entry fee. Absolutely no schooling will be allowed.

FUTURITY NON-PRO Level 4

·       The top 15 scoring entries, plus ties, in the Non-Pro Level 4 division are advancing to the Finals (pattern 10). The Go-Round will run pattern 8.

·       The next 15 scoring entries, plus ties, in the Non-Pro Level 4 division may enter the Consolation Class (pattern 2).

·       The Top 5 scoring entries, plus ties, from the Consolation Class will advance to the Non-Pro Level 4 Finals.

·       Anyone who is qualified for the Consolation Class must declare their intent and must enter the Consolation Class by noon the day before.

·       There is no Consolation Class purse and no entry fee.  Absolutely no schooling will be allowed.

The NRHA European Futurity is “Open to the World” and showcases four-year-old Reining horses and riders competing for close to $300,000 in prize money. Riders can show their three-year-olds in other futurities, and then compete in the NRHA European Futurity in early spring of the following year when they are four-year-olds. The NRHA show, held in conjunction with the European Futurity, will host a full slate of Open and Non Pro competition, be NRHA-approved and run under NRHA rules.
