Oklahoma City, OK – July 31, 2008 – International Reining fans now have access to the 2008 Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) World Reining Championship with the launch of the event’s web site. The championship is scheduled to be held in Manerbio, Italy, on September 11-14, 2008 at the Palasturla facility. The new web site provides reining enthusiasts from across the globe access to the schedule, hotel information, team listings, plus the ability to purchase tickets online.
The new web site gives everyone access to watch international reiners compete for the prestigious FEI World Reining Championship gold, silver and bronze medals outside of the FEI World Equestrian Games. Those wishing to attend can make hotel arrangements, find directions to the facility, purchase advance tickets, learn more about the teams competing, take advantage of advertising options and much more. Reining fans that can’t make their way to Italy won’t be left out either as they can watch the live web cast and see the action from anywhere in the world.
The FEI competition is organized by the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation (FISE), with the technical support of the Italian Reining Horse Association (IRHA). This year, organizers anticipate 20,000 horse enthusiasts to be in attendance to see history in the making with this first-ever event.
Teams and individuals from these countries will compete for a total purse of $100,000. The $70,000 team competition will be held on September 11 with more than 20 countries expected to participate. On September 14, the top 20 riders will go head-to-head in a clean-slate $30,000 individual final.
